Self-Care with Guest Blogger Jasmine

My name is Jasmine Kazera and I run a Travel/Lifestyle blog called Traveling Through Life With a Wine Glass Half Full. For me, traveling through life is a journey within itself. Life can sometimes get you down and you may encounter numerous stressful days. I believe it is all about perspective; keeping a positive attitude and open mind (seeing the glass half full rather than half empty) can really make a difference and help you though the toughest of times. One of the many things I pride myself on is being an optimistic person, so I’ve created this blog to help people get that same positive outlook on life and all it has to offer. I share Travel Tips, Stories and Inspiration all through a positive point a view.

Do What Makes YOU Happy

Scrolling through Instagram one day I came across a great piece of advice that was given by an author named Cara Alwill Leyba @thechampagnediet, she said to write down a list of things that make you happy. Literally grab your favorite notebook and pen, list 1-10, then fill in the blanks with things that make you happy. Next, do all of those things!

Sometimes we stand in the way of our own happiness, other times we let negative things or negative people stand in the way. Me personally, I am a people pleaser and also have a hard time saying no. We have to remember that is it ok to be selfish sometimes because it is all a part of self-care.

Here is an example of a few things that were on the first list that I made:

Things that make me happy

1- Fresh flowers (went and bought a beautiful bouquet of roses)

2- Talking to my mom (called and chatted for an hour)

3- Writing (wrote a poem)

4- Pedicures (went and got one)

No matter how big or small the items, just write them down and make it a point to follow through.

So, tell me, what’s on your list? Start jotting it down and checking items off. Go be happy! You deserve it!
